Melcut operates a Quality Management System in accordance with the ISO 9001:2000 standard and was first awarded Registered Firm status in 1989. Indeed, we were the first “Special Cutting Tool” manufacturer worldwide to achieve this. Our quality process involves all employees and the focus is always on continuous improvement.







Quality in Manufacturing
Our quality control begins at the raw material stage and progresses through all aspects of the manufacturing process. We maintain strict control on the selection of our suppliers, the specification of the materials, as well as final incoming inspection. Long-term relationships with our key suppliers facilitates this very stringent process.  

Every order is then formally reviewed prior to manufacture and detailed work instructions and routing are prepared. We utilize Operator Control, SPC, in process and final inspections to ensure that quality standards are maintained. Inspection test methods and acceptance criteria are clearly defined and documented. All inspection equipment is controlled and calibrated. There is total traceability through every stage of the manufacturing process - from raw material to finished product. Cross-functional “Quality Improvement” teams are used to improve our processes and capabilities.
